Hard to believe, but it’s true. Those small air leaks in your home can add up to big electric bills during the summer and winter months.
That’s why Prentiss County EPA offers its members home energy evaluations to assist in keeping your electric bills down and your home energy efficient all year round.
Here’s how it works:
A specially trained Energy Use Specialist will come to your home and evaluate the energy efficiency of the building, household appliances, electronics, your heating and cooling system, and the lighting system.
Once the evaluation is complete, you’ll be given a detailed list of recommendations showing you what steps can be taken to reduce your energy costs. The written review provides you with a variety of energy savings options. You can use these recommendations to choose an option that best suits your needs.
You pay $150 for the in home evaluation then we refund that initial $150 plus 50%( to $500) of what you spend to complete the recommendations from $150 to $1000 total cost. We also have low interest loans for certain higher cost recommendations such as central electric heat pumps.
